Varsity Football Bounces Back by connor seifert
This past Friday the Saugatuck Indians varsity football team took on the Gobles Tigers at home. They won the game 42-0, and the win improved the Indians’ record to four and one on the season. The Indians are also ranked sixteenth in division seven according to www.thedzone.com.
Though the score wasn’t close, it was a great game to watch because of the Indians’ high-powered offense. The Indians jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter on a run from Jacob Stewart. From then on, Saugatuck scored at will and stopped the Tigers on every one of their drives. Brad Dunn had fourteen carries for two-hundred and eleven yards, three touchdowns, and then threw for one touchdown. He also had the longest run on the night: seventy-two yards for a touchdown. The one passing touchdown on the game was to Jeff Kohlmeyer for sixteen yards. Jacob Stewart had five carries for fifty-five yards and a touchdown, and Nick Baumbach had five carries for fifty-six yards and a touchdown. Kicker Griffin Milavanski also went six for six on extra-points for the night.
The win gives the team their first win in the Lakeshore division, making them 1 and 0 in the division. This upcoming Friday is another divisional match-up for the Indians as they will be traveling to Martin to take on the Clippers. The theme for this upcoming game at Martin is Pajama Party, so be ready for bed when you head on over to Martin to cheer on the team this Friday night!

Piano and a microphone 1983 by Luke lencioni
This past Friday, Warner Brothers released a nine-song album titled Piano and A Microphone 1983. The album is by musical legend and star Prince, only now coming out two years after his passing.
The album features simpler songs, recorded by Prince himself, before his major breakout of fame and popularity in the industry. The album is only thirty-five minutes long in its entirety. The track list goes as follows:
"17 Days"
"Purple Rain"
"A Case Of You"
"Mary Don’t You Weep"
"Strange Relationship”
"International Lover"
"Wednesday"
"Cold Coffee & Cocaine"
"Why The Butterflies"
Anybody who knows anything about Prince will be confused to see songs already released by him back around the early 80’s. The songs are actually stripped down versions of the popular versions, excluding the elaborate post production.
The entire album is straight from Prince himself, with every performance coming from his own home. It’s an intimate experience for long time fans, who have been devoid of his musical presence for too long now. The album itself is only available as a physical purchase, and is not available on streaming services. Prince fans: the album is definitely worth listening to, and there are videos on YouTube that have the songs if you’re interested in listening.
Prince would have turned sixty this year, on June 7, but unfortunately died of an accidental fentanyl overdose on April 21, 2016. A small level of 3 micrograms per liter of blood of fentanyl has been known to be deadly. In Prince’s toxicology report, there were found to be 67.8 micrograms per liter.

Tens of thousands of people preparing for the clothing release on the 27th so they can get their hands on any item. Japan lands rover on asteroid by Jared Latchaw
Last week, Japan’s space agency, known as JAXA, became the first nation to ever successfully land a rover on a moving asteroid. The two robots, known as MINERVA-II1 rovers named Rover-1A and Rover-1B, have already begun sending back images. The Rovers landed on an asteroid named Ryugu on September 21 and are both in good working condition, said some of the rovers analysts.
They are hoping that this revolutionary project will shed light on the possible origins of our solar system. Since they are the first ever rovers to land on an asteroid, scientists are hoping to learn all about the strange rocks that are hurling around space. Aside from possibly learning about the origin of our solar system, they are hoping that they can teach us about other distant parts of space.
In addition to the photos being taken by the rovers, they are also taking some readings like surface temperature. While these two rovers are busy, a mothership plans to drop onto the asteroid in late October to collect things like rock and soil samples. Further plans for the mothership include detonating an explosive on the surface in order to create a crater that they can sample new and fresh rock that hasn’t been altered by space.
If all goes according to JAXA’s plans, they hope to have the spacecraft depart the asteroid sometime in December of 2019, and have it back sometime in 2020 to begin doing research on all of the items collected from the asteroid. If you want to read the original article and see images from the rovers, look here.
